One of our biggest challenges at Xanadu Group is likely one that many companies face; how to equally engage and bridge connections between Head Office, front-line teams, and teams in different states.

It’s easy to create company culture and provide team bonding opportunities when everyone works in the same building or lives in the same city.

But as a diverse and multi-cultural organisation, we’re proud to have employees across Western Australia, Victoria, and even internationally. The question is… how do we ensure everyone feels connected, recognised and involved in the company?

This year, we’re treating this as a priority and actively working on implementing initiatives that engage and bridge the gap between each of our teams.

♀️ One of our current initiatives is a company-wide competition we’re hosting where employees can win tickets to the annual International Women’s Day 2026 UN Women Australia lunch event.

Both men and women across Xanadu Group are being encouraged to enter, and all they need to do is submit in 25 – 50 words which influential woman inspires them and why (note: see some of our submissions below).

We’ve seen the difference when our employees feel connected to one another and well-supported. And when it comes to initiatives like this, it’s important that we’re considering:

⚖️ Equality: is there equal opportunity for everyone to participate, no matter each individual’s background and role?

🌎Accessibility: is the opportunity something we can offer to everybody within the company, no matter their location (and substitute equal value for if and when necessary?)

🌱 Values: does the opportunity fall in line with our values, especially when it comes to furthering our employees’ careers, personal development opportunities, and recognition of their individual contributions?

❤️Connectedness: is it something people want to engage in, that will encourage team-bonding and conversation?

What are some things you do as an organisation to encourage collaboration and team building across states, countries, brands and teams?
