Our dedicated team is comprised of highly skilled, experienced support workers, nurses and area coordinators who genuinely care about participant’s experiences and want to help people living with disabilities live better.

Our support workers provide our participants with assistance with daily living and community access. They also support our registered and enrolled nurses caring for participants with high care needs. Our area coordinators are here for participants, to oversee their care, ensure high-quality service delivery, and keep participants connected to ancillary services if needed.

We are seeking individuals experienced in

  • Hoisting, slide sheets, and safe transfer practices.
  • Experience in providing support to people with Motor Neurone Diagnoses.
  • Providing assistance with Stoma Care (training can be provided).
  • Supporting individuals with PEG feeding.
  • Providing support in Tracheostomy care.
  • Experience in providing support to people with conditions such as Dementia.
  • Supporting customers with complex and challenging needs.
  • Providing palliative care support.

Desirable criteria

Previous experience in Support Work is desirable.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Relevant experience in disability, mental health, or a related field.

Essential criteria

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in High-Care Support Work, particularly in areas including Dementia, Stoma Care, and PEG Feeding.
  • Experience working one-on-one with people with disabilities who may have complex medical needs.
  • Experience working 1:1 with people with disabilities who may present with Challenging Behaviours.
  • A valid Australian driver’s license.
  • A reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening, or willingness to obtain one.
  • A valid First-Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Values that align with Helping Solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a creative, innovative mindset.
  • Flexible availability to work a range of shifts during the week, overnight, and occasional weekends.
