Pictured with Vikki is Dr Susan Harwood who happened to be seated at our table.

Vikki, Kathleen and Chau enjoyed meeting Dr Harwood and discussing her (2006) PhD research project with the WA Police Department; she currently works with a range of government agencies to provide practical implementation strategies to identify, prevent and respond appropriately to workplace bullying and other psychosocial harms.

Susan was also wearing a pin from Emily’s List – Australia’s only financial, political and personal support network for progressive Labor women in Australian politics. She explained how Emily’s List successfully supports more women in political leadership through active targeting of winnable seats and the provision of appropriate levels of resourcing.

As women in leadership at our organisation who also strive to make meaningful change, it was inspiring to hear from Dr Harwood and other influential women at this event, whether they were guest speakers or seated right at our table.
